TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of expanseoutfitters.com and any services or products purchased from Expanse Outfitters LLC (“Expanse Outfitters,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Maine limited liability company located at 1282 US Route 1, Freeport, ME 04032.

By accessing our website, booking a service, or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These terms apply to both our repair and service operations and our e-commerce parts sales.

2. Automotive Repair & Service

Estimates & Authorization

All repair work requires written or electronic authorization before work begins. Estimates are provided in good faith but are not fixed-price quotes unless explicitly stated in writing. Final charges may differ from estimates if additional issues are discovered during diagnosis or repair.

For any additional work discovered beyond the original scope, we will contact you for authorization before proceeding. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable timeframe, we may perform only the originally authorized work.

Maine law (Title 10, §1393) requires written estimates for repairs over $25. You have the right to a written estimate and to approve any work before it begins.

Diagnostic Fees

Diagnostic time is billable whether or not repairs are subsequently authorized. If you decline to proceed with recommended repairs after diagnosis, you remain responsible for the diagnostic labor charge. We will inform you of any diagnostic fees before beginning the inspection.

Parts & Labor

We use a combination of genuine OEM parts, quality aftermarket parts, and customer-supplied parts at our discretion or per your request. We reserve the right to decline installation of customer-supplied parts we deem unsuitable or unsafe. Labor warranty does not apply to customer-supplied parts.

Vehicle Release & Storage

Vehicles must be collected within 10 business days of completion notice. After this period, a storage fee of $35/day may be applied. Expanse Outfitters is not responsible for vehicles left beyond 30 days without prior arrangement.

Warranty

  • Labor: 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first

  • Parts (OEM/aftermarket supplied by us): Per manufacturer warranty

  • Customer-supplied parts: No warranty on labor

  • Warranty is void if the vehicle is modified, abused, or serviced elsewhere for related systems

3. E-Commerce — Parts & Product Sales

Orders & Payment

All orders are subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel any order and issue a full refund if a part is unavailable, discontinued, or incorrectly priced due to error. Prices are in USD and subject to change without notice until an order is confirmed.

Payment is due at time of order. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as listed at checkout. All transactions are processed securely.

Shipping

  • Orders ship within 1–3 business days unless otherwise noted

  • Shipping estimates are not guaranteed delivery dates

  • Risk of loss passes to you upon handoff to the carrier

  • We are not responsible for carrier delays, lost packages, or customs fees on international orders

  • Oversized or freight items may require additional lead time and carrier coordination

Returns & Refunds

New, uninstalled parts in original packaging may be returned within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item was shipped in error or is defective.

  • Electrical parts are final sale. However, electrical parts that arrive defective (DOA) may be returned or exchanged within 7 days of receipt with evidence of the defect. Buyer’s remorse does not qualify.

  • Special-order items are final sale

  • Used and pre-owned parts are sold as-is and are final sale. Where tested, condition is noted in the listing. A 14-day DOA window applies to used parts sold as functional — contact us within 14 days if a part arrives non-functional.

  • Parts showing installation marks or modification are not eligible for return

  • Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the return

Fitment Responsibility

You are responsible for confirming part fitment for your specific vehicle. VIN, production date, and build specifications matter — especially on Land Rover platforms. When in doubt, contact us before ordering. We are happy to verify fitment.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Maine law, Expanse Outfitters’ liability for any claim arising from services or products shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service or product giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of use of your vehicle, or damage resulting from parts installed by third parties.

Products and services are provided “as is” except as expressly warranted. We disclaim all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.

Off-Road & Performance Use

Parts or modifications intended for off-road, competition, or performance use are sold for off-highway use only where applicable. Installation and use are at your own risk. We assume no liability for damage, injury, or loss arising from off-road or motorsport use. Customer is responsible for compliance with all applicable emissions, safety, and registration laws in their jurisdiction.

5. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cumberland County, Maine.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us directly to resolve disputes informally.

6. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number and consenting via our contact or service request form, you agree to receive SMS messages from Expanse Outfitters LLC regarding your service appointment, order status, estimates, invoices, and shop updates. Message frequency varies. Msg & Data rates may apply.

To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message. To get help, reply HELP. You can also contact us directly to be removed from SMS communications.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase or service.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. Continued use of our site or services after changes constitutes acceptance.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

  • Vehicle information: year, make, model, VIN, mileage

  • Service information: descriptions of requested work, photos

  • Payment information: processed securely through Stripe; we do not store card numbers

  • Communications: messages sent to or from us via SMS or email

We also collect limited technical data when you visit our website, such as browser type and pages visited, through standard web analytics tools.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule and perform vehicle service and repairs

  • Communicate with you about your service appointment, estimate, or order

  • Send SMS or email updates with your consent

  • Process payments and fulfill parts orders

  • Maintain service records and warranty information

  • Improve our website and customer experience

3. SMS Data

If you consent to receive SMS messages from us, your phone number is used solely to send service-related communications from Expanse Outfitters LLC. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or SMS consent data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only with:

  • Service providers who assist us in operating our business (e.g., Stripe for payment processing, Twilio for SMS delivery, Resend for email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.

  • Legal authorities if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers or business.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain warranty records, and comply with applicable law. Service records are typically retained for a minimum of 7 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal retention requirements.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Payment transactions are encrypted and processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)

  • Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP

  • Opt out of email communications by contacting us directly
